Frequently Asked Questions
Troubleshooting & FAQ
This is often caused by incorrect parameter settings.
- Speed too high: Try reducing the cutting speed.
- Power too low: Increase the laser power.
- Focus too high: Lower the focus position.
- Gas pressure too low: Increase the gas pressure slightly.
Yellowing is typically caused by oxidation.
- Impure Nitrogen: Ensure your Nitrogen gas is high purity. Even a small amount of Oxygen can cause discoloration.
- Gas Flow: Check for leaks in the air pipe or increase the gas pressure.
A hot nozzle usually means the laser beam is clipping it.
- Centering: Check if the nozzle is perfectly centered with the laser beam.
- Cooling: Ensure sufficient gas pressure is flowing to cool the nozzle.
- Replacement: If the nozzle is deformed, replace it immediately to avoid damaging the focus lens.
Blue plasma indicates a severe parameter mismatch.
- Wrong Gas: Check if you are accidentally using Oxygen (O2) instead of Nitrogen (N2).
- Speed too high: The laser doesn’t have enough time to cut through; reduce speed.
- Power too low: Increase power output.
These defects are usually related to focus or cleanliness.
- Focus: Adjust the focus position and diameter for better penetration.
- Cleanliness: Ensure the material surface is free of oil, rust, or paint.
- Shielding Gas: Make sure the protective gas is on to prevent oxidation.
Black seams mean the metal is oxidizing while hot.
- Check Nitrogen: Ensure the Nitrogen gas is turned on.
- Airflow Direction: Adjust the shielding gas nozzle so the airflow is opposite to the welding direction, covering the hot weld bead effectively.
This can affect welding quality.
- Power Supply: Check if your main voltage is stable. Use a voltage stabilizer if necessary.
- Lens Check: Inspect the protective lens. A dirty or damaged lens can block laser power. Clean or replace it.
Frequent stops are often safety triggers.
- Sensors: Check for any faulty sensors or loose electrical connections.
- Cooling System: Ensure the water chiller is running correctly, filters are clean, and water flow is unobstructed.
